Bodycam Footage Shows Arike Ogunbowale's Miami Arrest, Officer Pointing Taser at Paige Bueckers

Newly released bodycam footage is giving the public its first real look at the chaotic scene outside E11EVEN Miami the night Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale was arrested,and it's more intense than most people realized.
The nearly two-minute clip, obtained by the California Post, captures the moments following Ogunbowale’s March 5 arrest outside the Miami nightclub, just hours after she’d led the Mist to an 80-74 win over the Phantom in the Unrivaled championship game. Ogunbowale had scored 19 points in the title win before heading out to celebrate with teammates, including Paige Bueckers.
What the Footage Shows
In the video, a law enforcement officer is seen grabbing Ogunbowale as she attempted to leave the club, setting off an immediate reaction from the crowd. One bystander can be heard yelling, “Do not grab her!” Bueckers then steps in, wrapping her arm around Ogunbowale and telling officers, “We got her”, but that didn’t de-escalate things. An officer pointed a Taser directly at both players’ faces, shouting “Let her go!” before handcuffing Ogunbowale and telling her, “You’re going to go to jail.”
The Charge
According to the arrest affidavit, police say Ogunbowale punched a nightclub security employee in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground, after he attempted to escort her out following an unrelated altercation inside the club. The alleged victim identified her on the scene, and police say surveillance footage from inside E11EVEN backed up his account.
Ogunbowale was charged with misdemeanor battery and released on $1,000 bond. Unrivaled issued a statement at the time saying the league was “aware of an incident involving Arike Ogunbowale” and was “in contact with Arike and her representatives.”
How It Ended
The case never made it to trial. Prosecutors dropped the charge in May, before the start of the WNBA’s 2026 season, with Ogunbowale’s attorney confirming the decision. E11EVEN declined to comment on the specifics, telling reporters at the time only that the club is “proud” to be “the location of choice for so many people to celebrate major moments and milestones.”
Six months later, the bodycam video is the first time the public has actually seen how the arrest played out in real time, and it’s reigniting conversation about how the situation was handled by police from the jump.
